You are Zidane, a member of Tantalus, a combination theatre troupe and thief band. Your mission is to capture the Princess Garnet of Alexandria. There are just a few things standing in your way, a castle full of guards, an over-protective Captain of the Guard, and a princess with plans of her own . . . Plans go awry and the Tantalus theatre ship ends up crashed in Gaia's Evil Forest with a few un-planned guests. Not only do you have the willfull princess, you've got the overbearing Captain of the Guard, Steiner, and Vivi, a pint-sized wizard with attitude. What was Garnet running away from and what will become of Gaia as diabolical plots unfold and threaten to destroy the very planet?
Gameplay-10/10
FFIX goes back to the old formula of jobs and skills. You learn new skills by equipting new items and weapons. You also have to battle enemies to recieved AP,which allows you to learn the attacks. There are also support albilites that are not attacks but they immprove your stats and item use. The leveling system is like it always is. (get exp. level up). The gameplay is really soild in this game. It is also easy to get into.
Graphics-10/10
For its time FFIX had beatiful graphics and jawdropping cutseens. For a 32 bit machine the Playstation produced some beatiful graphics with this game.
Sound-10/10
I would love to own the soundtrack to this game. The music is just so epic and classical, with a bit of modern music. The sound effects are solid, and blend in really well with the game. I was amazed how wonderful the music was.
Replayabilty:10/10
You will find your self playing this over and over agian to unlock all the secrets.
Verdict:10/10
One of the best RPG's ever released, if you loved the old 2d rpg's this is the one for you. This game is at a reasonable price now. So go out and play it.
